When Clarke Farm began in 1984, we didn’t plan to operate as a business. We started because we wanted an alternative to mass produced meat sold in traditional grocery stores. Within a few months of changing to 100% grass fed beef, we found that our health improved and just felt better. We felt so strongly about the benefits, we started selling our beef and lamb to other friends and families who wanted to experience the same benefits.

We had many customers who knew the benefits of grass fed/pasture raised meat, but there was still a large population that needed to be educated. As we gained more customers, the benefits began to speak for themselves. People came to the farm when they saw for themselves how much better their friends felt. Soon, they were feeling better themselves.
